Diane de La Marck (born June 16, 1544 in Château-Thierry , † after May 2, 1612) was a French noblewoman from the Rhenish house of Mark .

origin

She is the daughter of Robert IV. De La Marck , Duke of Bouillon , Lord of Sedan and Château-Thierry, and Françoise de Brézé (a daughter of Diane de Poitiers ). She was named Dame de Sarbruck after her paternal grandmother, Guillemette de Sarrebruck . A few months after her birth, her birthplace was conquered by Emperor Charles V.

Duchess of Nevers

On January 6, 1558, she married Jacques de Clèves , the future Duke of Nevers and Pair de France , Seigneur d'Orval, a younger son of François I de Clèves, duc de Nevers and Marguerite de Bourbon-Vendôme , who came from the same Family came like her. Countess of Sagonne

In 1579 she married Jean Babou de La Bourdaisière , Comte de Sagonne (* 1541), the son of Jean Babou , Baron de Sagonne and Maître-Général de l'Artillerie de France, and Françoise Robertet , and uncle of Gabrielle d ' Estrées . Jean Babou de La Bourdaisière died in September 1589 in the Battle of Arques . Their children together are:
