Robert Jakob Bock

Robert Jakob Bock (born April 26, 1896 in Darmstadt , † October 4, 1943 in Pirmasens ) was a German painter , etcher and draftsman .

Life

His parents were the Darmstadt merchants Joachim and Katharina Bock. After a short study period at the art school in Mainz, he moved to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1916 , initially in Peter Halm's class , and in 1919 Franz von Stuck accepted him into his master class. In 1936 he worked in the context of the Olympic Games in Berlin. In 1937 he married Wilhelmine Haber, a woman from Pirmasens. In 1943 he died of tuberculosis two days after the bombing of his Munich studio in Pirmasens.
