Robert war
Robert Krieg (* 1949 in Bad Ems ) is a German documentary filmmaker , sociologist and author .
Life
Krieg studied sociology, journalism and ethnology and then worked as a lecturer at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and the Universities of Osnabrück and Bielefeld . He worked as a sociologist for the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs in North Rhine-Westphalia and carried out social science research projects on the topics of marginalization and migration .
Since 1983 he has mainly worked as a documentary filmmaker in Germany, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East . In the 1990s he was a lecturer at the International College for Film and Television in San Antonio (Cuba) and headed a training project for radio and television journalism in the Palestinian territories supported by the European Union . In 1997, together with Monika Nolte, he founded a community of authors and producers for film, television and radio in Cologne. In 2001, in the film Weißes Gold , he documented the life's work of his great-grandfather Hermann Fölsch , who was one of the first merchants in Chile to run a saltpeter mine.
He is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dokumentarfilm and Filmbüro NW , of which he was a board member from 1989 to 1992 and 2007 to 2014. He represents the advisory board of FILM + SCHOOL NRW Filmbüro northwest and in the executive committee of the television workshops development policy , the Documentary Association. Since 2016 he has also been a member of the WDR Broadcasting Council .
