Robert Pfeil (engineer)
Robert Pfeil (born June 18, 1864 in Wiesbaden ; † February 18, 1928 ) was a German engineer and government master builder .
Pfeil studied at the technical universities in Karlsruhe and Braunschweig. During his studies he became a member of the Arminia Karlsruhe fraternity in 1882 and of the Germania fraternity in Braunschweig in 1883 . After completing his studies, he joined Siemens & Halske in Berlin in 1892 . He invented the arrow short circuit as a way of representing electrical circuits in railway safety technology and was a member of the board of Siemens & Halske from 1904. In 1921 he received an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Braunschweig . He died of pneumonia.
