Robert S. Kerr III
Robert S. Kerr III is an American politician . Between 1987 and 1991 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Oklahoma .
Career
There are hardly any usable sources about Robert Kerr. He comes from a family of politicians. His father Robert Kerr Jr. (1926-2004) applied unsuccessfully in 1980 in the Democratic Party primaries for the US Senate ; his grandfather Robert S. Kerr (1896–1963) was a US Senator and Governor of Oklahoma. He grew up in the south-eastern part of this state and became a member of the Democratic Party. In the meantime he was their state chairman. In 1990 he ran unsuccessfully in his party's primary election for a seat in the United States House of Representatives .
In 1986, Kerr was elected Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma alongside Henry Bellmon . He held this office between 1987 and 1991. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate .
