Robert Schächter

Robert Schächter (born April 30, 1958 in Vienna ) is an Austrian entrepreneur who is involved in companies such as the Austrian State Printing House and the cancer research company Biolife Science . Together with his long-term business partner Johannes Strohmayer, he has built up companies such as AV Digital (which provide loudspeakers for airports, train stations and shopping centers) into a double-digit million company. This was taken over by Honeywell in 2007. The Österreichische Staatsdruckerei is partly owned by the G3 Privatstiftung, the GRT Privatstiftung and the Österreichische Staatsdruckerei employee participation foundation. The company is listed on the stock exchange.

Life

Robert Schächter earned a degree in mechanical engineering in 1980. The following year he worked for Dow Chemical in marketing and sales. In 1982 he completed the MBA program at the University of Vienna . In 1984 he became a managing partner at Petromontan. He studied executive management at Fontainebleau in 1995 . From 1994 to 1999 he was General Manager at Rhône-Poulenc Austria. He was in charge of the RP Eastern Europe business and took over the spin-off management for Rhône-Poulenc Rhodia. He was Supervisor Rhodia SA, Paris and Coordinator Rhône-Poulenc Rorer. In 1999 Schächter became a managing partner of Euro Capital Partners (ECP).

In 2008 Robert Schächter received the Golden Decoration for Services to the Republic of Austria . This was awarded to him by Claudia Schmied , Minister for Education and Culture in the Federal Chancellery.

From 2004 to 2013 Robert Schächter was Chairman of the University Council of the University of Applied Arts . Since 2014 he has been honorary professor for the course "The Art of Business" at the Institute for Fine and Media Art.
