Johannes Strohmayer (born September 17, 1950 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian investor and independent entrepreneur. He lives and works with his wife and two sons in Vienna .

School career and academic experience

After completing the private high school of the school brothers in Strebersdorf and the Language School Christchurch College in 1969, Strohmayer studied economics and journalism at the University of Vienna and Stanford University , California. In 1975 he did his doctorate at the University of Vienna , 1974 at Stanford University - Business Administration. After completing his doctorate at the University of Vienna, he initially worked at the Institut des Sciences politiques of the Sorbonne in Paris, and from 1990 to 2000 he was a lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

Political activities

Johannes Strohmayer was the top candidate of the Liberal Forum in the 1999 European Parliament elections .

Entrepreneurial activities

Since 1981 Johannes Strohmayer has been an independent accountant, tax advisor and court-sworn expert in Vienna. He is also a member of the Chamber of Public Accountants . From 1983 to 1998 Strohmayer was a member of the Presidium of the Tax Reform Commission in the Federal Ministry of Finance. From 1984 to 1999 he was a member of the supervisory board of Creditanstalt . In 1990 Strohmayer got a lectureship at the Institute for Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . From 1993 he was Managing Partner at Hübner & Hübner , in tax consulting. Subsequently, Strohmayer was active in various international supervisory boards, for example at Hiross SRL in Italy and the FRG in Hungary. Johannes Strohmayer has also been Managing Director of Euro Capital Partners since 1999 and has been on the supervisory board of Österreichische Staatsdruckerei since 2000 , which Euro Capital Partners acquired from ÖIAG in the same year .

From 2001 to 2013 Strohmayer was a university councilor at the Medical University of Vienna . From 2005 to 2007 Strohmayer was on the supervisory board of Österreichische Bundesbahnen AG and a member of the Club of Rome .

In 2009 Strohmayer acquired through Dr. Strohmayer Foundation and the private industrial foundation all shares in Austrian Equities AG, founded in 2007, from Investkredit AG, a subsidiary of Österreichische Volksbanken AG . Before that, Strohmayer was the sole director of Austrian Equities AG.

Johannes Strohmayer has been a director of the Hundertwasser non-profit private foundation since 1998 . Since 2010, Johannes Strohmayer has also been a member of the Frauenthal AG Supervisory Board . Johannes Strohmayer has also held a 26% stake in the business trust and tax consultancy firm Huebner & Huebner in Vienna since 1993.
