Robert Schmitt-Brandt
Robert Schmitt-Brandt (born February 12, 1927 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German Indo-Europeanist .
He studied Slavic , Romance , Indo-European and Arabic in Frankfurt am Main and Heidelberg . He received his doctorate in 1958 and completed his habilitation in 1966 . He was a professor at the Institute for Linguistics at Heidelberg University . As part of a Herder visiting professorship , he taught at the University of Tbilisi from 2001 to 2003 .
