Róbert Waltner (born September 20, 1977 in Kaposvár ) is a Hungarian football player .

Career

Waltner began his professional career at the hometown club Kaposfő SC, where he moved to better local rivals Kaposvári Rákóczi FC after a relatively successful year , but there he was not used in two years. In 1997 he switched to Videoton FC in the top Hungarian league, where he scored twelve goals straight away. After only one year he went on to Budapest to Újpest Budapest , where he also stayed for only one year. Then he moved to Zalaegerszegi TE FC , where he stayed for him for a relatively long time and even won the Hungarian championship title in 2002.

In 2002 he started playing abroad. The striker moved to Argentina for the Boca Juniors for a year . There he was able to celebrate the aperture championship in 2003 and the Copa Libertadores , but Waltner was not used in the championship. In 2003 he returned to Europe and played for half a year with Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus , where he won the Cypriot Cup.

In 2004 he returned to his homeland and played again for one year at Zalaegerszegi TE FC. In 2005/2006 he was under contract with Vasas Budapest before returning to Zalaegerszeg . From there he was awarded to Al-Dhafra in the United Arab Emirates . In 2009/09 he played again for Zalaegerszeg.

From summer 2009, Hungary's top scorer in 2006/07 will play for SV Mattersburg in Austria .

In summer 2012 he returned to Kaposvári Rákóczi FC in Hungary.

From 2001 to 2004 Waltner played six games for the Hungarian national team .
