For the 2016/17 season Weinstabl was Jürgen Halper's assistant coach at the second division club Floridsdorfer AC . In December 2016, the Viennese separated from Halper and his team, which also fired Weinstabl.
For the 2017/18 season he was coach of the regional league team SKU Amstetten . With Amstetten he rose to the end of the season in the 2nd division . After the promotion he became team boss of Amstetten and Peter Zeitlhofer head coach, since Weinstabl does not have the necessary license for the 2nd division.
