Roberto Alajmo

Roberto Alajmo (born December 20, 1959 in Palermo ) is an Italian writer .

Life

Alajmo lives in his hometown Palermo and works as an editor for the television channel RAI . He writes articles for the Sicilian newspapers La Repubblica Palermo and Giornale di Sicilia .

He was a lecturer in journalism at the University of Palermo .

Act

Alajmo also writes short stories, novels and plays, for which he has received several Italian literary prizes, among others. a. 2003 with the Premio Campiello for his novel Cuore di madre .

He wrote the libretto for the opera Ellis Island, composed by Giovanni Sollima .

His works appear in English, French, Spanish and German translations.

The essay volume Palermo see and die (Palermo è una cipolla) ( Ger . 2007) as well as the novels Mammaherz (Cuore di madre) (2008) and Es war der Sohn (È stato il figlio) (2011) were published in German.
