Roberto Bazlen

Roberto "Bobi" Bazlen (born 1902 in Trieste , Austria-Hungary ; died 1965 there ) was an Italian writer and publicist.

Life

Bazlen came from an Austrian family in Trieste, in whose environment he moved until 1919. He then became acquainted with Italian modern authors, such as Saba and Montale , and worked as a literary mediator. In 1939 he moved to Rome . Together with his long-time friend Luciano Foà , he founded the Adelphi Edizioni publishing house . Long before that, he had worked in the publishing industry and was active as a stimulator, translator and critic for an entire generation of Italian authors. At the same time he was an intimate connoisseur of his hometown Trieste.

He published little, but left behind a large number of publisher's reports, reviews, sketches, fragments and notes in German and Italian.
