Roberto Casellas Leal
Roberto Casellas Leal (born November 24, 1922 in Mérida (Mexico) ; † 2018 ) was a Mexican ambassador .
Life
Roberto Casellas Leal was born in Yucatán in 1922 and was tall. He studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and wrote a doctoral thesis on the right of asylum . From 1953 to 1954 he was a partner in the law firm "Basham Rings y Correa" in Mexico City . He entered the foreign service and became counselor.
From 1965 to 1966 he was employed in a leading position in the press department of the Mexican Foreign Ministry.
From 1974 to 1975 Casellas Leal was the envoy to the Mexican Consulate at 8210 Hawthorne Rd., Bethesda, Maryland .
On June 16, 1975 he was promoted to ambassador by the Mexican Foreign Minister.
On January 1, 1976, he took up his residence in Managua with Anastasio Somoza Debayle .
After an accreditation in Israel , he became the Mexican ambassador to Czechoslovakia in 1979 .
In October 1986, Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado appointed him Mexican ambassador to Pakistan . On April 28, 1987, Casellas Leal presented his letter of accreditation in Islamabad .
The Mexican ambassadors in Ankara are also regularly accredited to the governments of Azerbaijan , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan .
