Roberto Damián Colautti (born May 24, 1982 in Córdoba , Argentina ) is a former Israeli football player .

Colautti was born in Argentina and is an Argentine citizen . He also has an Israeli and an Italian passport.

Career

societies

At the age of 18 Colautti joined the professional squad of the Argentine first division club Boca Juniors, but could not prevail and so he moved to Europe on loan in December 2001 when he signed with FC Lugano. After six months in Switzerland, he returned to South America. So Colautti was loaned to CA Banfield on loan within the home . Here he was a little more successful than in Lugano and was brought back by the Juniors the following year. In the 2003/04 season Colautti met 19 times, which was also noticed by European talent scouts.

For the 2004/05 season Colautti moved again to Europe, even if his new club was geographically actually on Asian territory; Roberto Colautti signed with Maccabi Haifa . In 112 games for the Israelis, he was able to score a total of 48 goals. He also won two championships with Maccabi. In August 2007 Borussia Mönchengladbach secured the services of the center forward. In his first season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with Mönchengladbach. He came to ten missions and three goals. Colautti scored his first goal in the Bundesliga on May 10, 2009 in the game against FC Schalke 04 (1-0). The goal in the 90th minute meant three important points for his employer Mönchengladbach in the fight against relegation. It remained the only goal of the native Argentine in the 2008/09 season . There were six more competitive goals in the 2009/10 season before he left the Rhinelander. In March 2010 Colautti announced his departure from the Bundesliga and moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv at the end of the season , where he signed up until 2013.

National team

With his marriage in 2006 Colautti was given the Israeli citizenship , which enabled him to play for the national team of Israel ; the chances of being nominated for the Albiceleste were until then rather slim due to the numerous top strikers in his native country .
