Roberto Juarroz

Roberto Juarroz (born October 5, 1925 in Coronel Dorrego , Province of Buenos Aires , † March 31, 1995 in Temperley , Province of Buenos Aires) was an Argentine poet and writer .

Life

Roberto Juarroz studied library science at the faculty of philosophy at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and was able to complete this degree in 1958. This was followed by postgraduate studies with a scholarship at the Sorbonne from 1961 to 1962 .

From 1962 to 1991 he was a professor at the University of Buenos Aires, further director of the department of library science (without a year), and editor of the journal Poesía = Poesía (1958-1965).

Andreas Dorschel calls Roberto Juarroz's “philosophical poetry” “crystal clear and dark” at the same time and praises its “lightness and metaphysical wit”.
