The Robertson River is a 55 km long left tributary of the Tanana River in the interior of Alaska .
The river is fed by the Robertson Glacier in the northern Alaska range . It initially flows towards the east-northeast. The Rumble Creek flows into the river on the right. This makes a wide curve to the left. The West Fork Robertson River flows into the left bank. The Robertson River then flows again in an east-northeast direction and finally flows into the Tanana River 44 km west-northwest of Tok . Just before the mouth of the river, the Alaska Highway crosses the river. The Robertson River is part of the Yukon river system .
The Robertson River was named in 1885 by Lieutenant Henry T. Allen after Sergeant Cady Robertson, a member of his team.
The West Fork Robertson River is a left tributary of the Robertson River. The 30 km long river is fed by an unnamed glacier, which has its nutrient area on the western flank of Mount Kimball . The West Fork Robertson flows 30 km northeast through the mountains. It finally meets the Robertson River, 17 km above its confluence with the Tanana River.
