Robi Weber

Robi Weber (born July 14, 1941 in Zurich ) is a Swiss jazz musician (piano) who has particularly distinguished himself in the field of soul jazz .

Weber performed solo, in a duo, in a trio and above all with his quartet, which was also reinforced by singers and instrumental soloists. The quartet included the vibraphonist Kurt Weil and Thomas Dobler, bassist Kalli Gerhards and drummer Curt Treier . In addition to numerous galas, club guest appearances and concerts, the Robi Weber Quartet has also performed at important jazz festivals in Switzerland ( Zurich , Cully , Montreux , Ascona ) as well as in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands; it was also on tour in Thailand, Ghana, India and China.

The Robi Weber Quartet was voted the best Swiss jazz combo (“The Jazz Winners”) by the Readers Poll of the Swiss Jazz Magazine and Radio Swiss Jazz twice . In 2009 it received the Swiss Jazz Award .
