Curt Treier
Curt Treier (born October 11, 1944 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( drums ) who also worked as a music editor.
Live and act
Treier first made an apprenticeship as an electrician ; in addition, he learned to play the drums by himself . From 1962 he was active in various bands. In 1968 he became a professional musician; initially he played with the quartet of Robi Weber Quartet (with which several albums were created) and in the trio of Peter Jacques , who brought him into the DRS Bigband as a drummer in 1973 . He belonged to this formation (and many of its sub-formations) until its dissolution in 1986.
Dreyer had already founded the Peacock Party Band with some colleagues from the DRS big band ( Fernando Fantini , Antonio Conde, Renato Anselmi , Roman Dylag ) , with which he subsequently performed throughout Switzerland. In addition, he worked as a music editor for Swiss radio DRS until his retirement. He also worked with Franco Ambrosetti , Eddie Daniels , Glenn Ferris , Dusko Goykovich , Stéphane Grappelli , Bill Holman , Albert Nicholas , Hazy Osterwald , Ack van Rooyen , Tony Scott , Alan Skidmore , Jimmy Smith , Bruno Spoerri , Toots Thielemans , Charles Tolliver , Sylvia Vrethammar and Kai Winding . Treier can also be heard on albums by Che & Ray , Raymond Droz , Helmut Zacharias , Udo Jürgens , Pierre Cavalli , Linard Bardill , the Trio Eugster and Edi Bär ( Gruezi probably, Brazilia 1976). He played concerts and festivals all over Europe, Africa, China, Burma, India and Thailand.
