Robigus
The deity Robigus or Rubigus ( Latin : Rōbīgus or Rūbīgus ) rsp. Soon female deity Robigo or Rubigo (Latin: Rōbīgo or Rūbīgo ) is one of the numerous deities of Roman mythology (the Ερυσιβίη Δημήτηρ of the Gorgonians and the Ερυσίβιος Ἀπόλλων of the Rhodians [Ryodians]). She is responsible for cereal diseases such as grain rust and they called on her to prevent powdery mildew .
Her festival, the Robigalia (Latin: Rōbīgālia or Rūbīgālia ), took place according to Pliny on April 24th, when the Flemish Quirinalis sacrificed a rust-colored (Latin: rōbīginōsus rsp. Rūbīginōsus ) dog . Cult places are at the fifth milestone of the Via Claudia Augusta and on the Via Nomentana .
