Robin Manuel Christen (born April 19, 1991 in Berlin ) is a German basketball player . The two-meter-long winger is under contract with SC Rasta Vechta .

career

Christen was born in Berlin and grew up in Giessen in central Hesse . He played in the youth division of TV 1860 Lich  as well as in the team of the basketball youth performance center Mittelhessen in Gießen. From the 2009/10 season, Christen was part of the Licher BasketBears squad in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB and, thanks to a "double license", was part of the extended squad of the Bundesliga club Gießen 46ers , but without being used in the top German division.

From 2012 to 2015 he wore the shirt of the ETB Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In his last year in Essen, the 2015/16 season, he had to sit out for a long time due to a pubic bone injury.

Christen moved to White Wings Hanau within the 2. Bundesliga ProA , which he strengthened until the end of the 2015/16 season. After a strong season in Hanau with an average of 12.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per match, he was signed by RheinStars Cologne during the summer break of 2016  . Christen was also a regular player for the Rhinelanders and accepted an offer from SC Rasta Vechta for the 2017/18 season  .

In Vechta, the winger made a significant contribution to winning the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA, which in May 2018 also meant the return of Lower Saxony to the basketball Bundesliga . Christen was used in 39 competitive games during the championship season and posted an average of 10.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. With 62 three-point throws he was also the best shooter in the championship team from long range. With Vechta he caused a stir after promotion to the Bundesliga, when they finished the main round in fourth place and then advanced to the semi-finals. Christen was used in 39 games during the 2018/19 season and averaged 4.7 points per game.
