Rocco Clein
Rocco Clein (born July 20, 1968 in Munich , † February 1, 2004 in Cologne ; real name is Stefan Bickerich ) was a German music journalist and musician .
At the age of 17 he formed his first band, the Oxalic Lynxs , with which he released some records. Clein wrote for the music magazines Visions and Spex and for the youth magazine now for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . He was best known for his programs on the music channels VIVA and VIVA Zwei . As editor of the show Wah Wah on this station, Clein played a key role in making the German independent music scene known to a wider public. Several times he moderated the Immergut Festival taking place in Neustrelitzas well as the Rhine culture in Bonn . In 2000 he received a Norwegian Grammy for the Euroboys video “Black Fez” .
He died on February 1, 2004 at the age of 35 of complications from a cerebral haemorrhage . He was buried on February 5th in Bonn-Oberkassel, his gravestone bears the inscription "Always on my mind". He left two children.
