Rock-Simplice Embingou (born September 24, 1968 ; also Roch Embingou ) is a former football player from the Republic of the Congo .

Club career

Embingou began his career from 1988 to 1995 with Étoile du Congo in Brazzaville . From 1995 he played in Germany, initially for Lok Altmark Stendal , with whom he advanced to the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup in 1995/96 . He then worked for VfL Halle 1896 from 1997 to 2001 , for VfB Leipzig from 2001 to 2003 and for FSV Zwickau from 2003 to 2004 . He then played for a year without training for Saxonia Tangermünde in the Association League Saxony-Anhalt , before he finally moved to 1. FC Gera 03 in the Thuringia League in 2005 . With this he was promoted to the Oberliga Nordost in 2007 . Here he finally ended his active career after the 2007/08 league season at the age of 39. During the winter break of 2009/10 he started a comeback at SV Normania Treffurt in the Thuringian state class West (7th league). From August 2011 he played briefly in the 1st team at FSV Kitzscher.

National team

For the national soccer team of the Republic of the Congo Embingou played a total of 27 international matches from 1995 to 2004. Already in his first international match (3-0 against Niger ) he wore the captain's armband. Among other things, he took part with the Congo in the Africa Cup of 2000 and in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup.
