Rockets is a French space rock - band around the drummer Alain Groetzinger that in 1972 in Paris was founded. It achieved a certain cult status in Italy , France, England , the Netherlands and Japan .

Band history

The band around the drummer Alain Groetzinger, with changing line-ups over the years, formed in Paris in 1972 under the name Crystal . In 1974 they renamed themselves Rocket Man (or Rocketters ). For the first time they appeared as five aliens with gray eyes, silver heads and space suits , which has remained their characteristic to the present day. They recorded their first single, Rocket Man , in 1974 under producer Claude Lemoine, who remained there until 1983. In 1975 they changed their name again to Rockets and recorded the single Future Women .

Their first long-playing record was released in France in 1976, for which they organized numerous promotional tours. In their spectacular live shows, they used vocoders to alienate the human voice. Lasers and colored spots, as well as smoke, explosions and bazooka battle rays transformed the stage into a fantastic space environment. Her long-playing record On the Road Again was released in many countries in 1978. The American publication was released under the Tom N 'Jerry label .
