Rockpile AVA (recognized February 28, 2002) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California and is part of the larger areas of Dry Creek Valley AVA , North Coast AVA and Northern Sonoma AVA . The area is located in the northwestern part of the Sonoma County administrative area , northwest of the township of Healdsburg . Rockpile AVA was Sonoma County's twelfth recognized Denomination of Origin.
The vineyards of the eleven individual layers created so far are at least 240 m above sea level. NN .
