Roddy Bottum (* Roswell Christopher Bottum III , July 1, 1963 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American musician who became known as the keyboardist for the rock band Faith No More .

Bottum learned to play the piano at an early age and moved to San Francisco to study at the age of 18, where he became a member of Faith No More. He remained keyboardist there until the band split up in 1998. Before that, however, there were already rumors of resignation, as he contributed less to the band's work after Angel Dust and increasingly devoted himself to his own project, the indie pop band Imperial Teen .

Imperial Teen was still active after the breakup of Faith No More, but no longer achieved their success. In 2005 he was working on the score for the comedy My Name Is Fish . In 2005 Bottum composed the score for Craig Chester 's Adam & Steve . Since that time he has composed the film music for various film productions. In 2009 he started a worldwide reunion tour with Faith No More, which ended in December 2010 with a concert in Chile.

In 1993 he came out as gay in The Advocate magazine . This step attracted attention, especially in his home country, as at that time it was rare for musicians from the metal industry to admit their homosexuality.
