Introduce Yourself is Faith No More's second studio album . It was released in April 1987. Since the debut album We Care a Lot was only available to a limited extent, Introduce Yourself was partially seen as the actual debut of Faith No More. It is also the first album to be released on a major label .

Origin and style

To Introduce Yourself original singer Chuck Mosley is heard, who also wrote the lyrics. His singing has been described as rougher than Mike Patton's . After the release of this album, Mosley was fired in 1988. Introduce Yourself also contained a slightly renewed version of the title track from the previous album, We Care a Lot . The accompanying music video was also shown on MTV . The album was initially only released on vinyl and music cassette . It was first re-released in 1996.

reception

Allmusic's Greg Prato saw Introduce Yourself as a step in the right direction for the sound of the later albums. In particular, he described The Crab Song as salient, especially because of Jim Martin's guitar, and as underrated. The melodiousness and the bass figure on Anne's song could have made it a "hit". He awarded four out of five stars.
