Roderick Campbell

Roderick "Rod" Campbell (born June 15, 1953 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

Campbell attended the Reading School , the University of Exeter , the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde . He received degrees in politics, management and law. Campbell is a solicitor and was admitted to the bar in 2008.

Political career

Campbell ran for the first time in the Scottish parliamentary elections in 2007 for the constituency of North East Fife in national elections, but was only able to collect the third highest number of votes after the Liberal Democrat Iain Smith and the candidate of the Conservative Party , Ted Brocklebank , and thus missed the entry the Scottish Parliament . In the 2011 parliamentary elections , he ran again and won thanks to clear voice gains the mandate of the constituency. In the following elections in 2016 Campbell was defeated by the Liberal Democrat Willie Rennie and he subsequently left parliament.
