List of international matches for the Irish national football team
This list contains all of the Irish men's national football team's official FIFA- sponsored matches . The first two games at the 1924 Olympics are not considered by the FAI, as is the game at the 1948 Olympics, as the Irish amateur team competed. Matches made by the All-Ireland team before 1924 are counted as part of the Northern Irish national football team . Until the end of the 1960s , the national team was put together by a commission of the FAI or FAIFS. The exception was Bill Lacey , who supervised the selection four times between 1931 and 1936. The first permanent coach was Mick Meagan , who made his debut as Irish national coach on September 21, 1969.
