List of international matches of the GDR national soccer team
From 1952 to 1990, the GDR national soccer team played a total of 293 international A matches . Ten of these, which were played as part of the Summer Olympic Games and during Olympic qualification, were removed from the FIFA rating by the FIFA regulations on international matches in 1999 . However, the DFB, as the legal successor to the German Football Association of the GDR, continues to count these games. The GDR played as the only European team so far in 1964 against Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), with the highest victory, and Guinea (1962), with Guinea making its first game. The GDR was also the first European team to play against Burma (1963), Ghana (1964), Iraq (1969) and Mali (1962).

- ↑ The game was originally scheduled as a qualifier for the European Championship in 1992, for which both German teams were drawn into a qualifying group for the first time. In view of the reunification of the two German states on October 3, 1990, the GDR selection no longer took part, so the game that had already been set was played as a friendly.
