The list of international matches of the Icelandic national football team contains all the matches of the Icelandic national football team , provided they are included in the list of the national association Knattspyrnusamband Íslandsare included. It should be noted that not all international matches are considered official by the opposing associations or FIFA. Several sources (see web links) list other international matches, which, however, are not taken into account by the Icelandic Association. The results are always given from an Icelandic point of view. The outcome of the game is indicated by a green (win), yellow (draw) or red (defeat) deposit. The result after normal playing time after 90 or 120 minutes applies. A game decided after a penalty shoot-out will be counted as a draw both in the deposit and in the balance sheet . In the "Statistics" section you can find the team's record since the first international matchin the summer of 1946 sorted by opponent, continental association and venue; a green background means a positive overall balance (more victories than defeats), a yellow background an even (as many victories as defeats) and a red background a negative balance (more defeats than wins).

  1. France - Iceland 3: 2
  2. ↑ In contrast to the KSI, FIFA does not count three games in the 1988 Olympic qualification and one game against the English B team. (see: Rúnar Kristinsson - Century of International Appearances )
  3. 50th game under Lars Lagerbäck (30 of them together with Heimir Hallgrímsson )
  4. 200th international match by Lars Lagerbäck as national coach, seven of them with Nigeria and 141 with Sweden. Last game under the joint responsibility of Lars Lagerbäck and Heimir Hallgrímsson
  5. First game under the sole responsibility of Heimir Hallgrímsson
  6. Italicized enemies no longer exist.
  7. Bold year number = opponent won the title, italic year number = opponent could (also) not qualify. Successful qualifications of Icelanders are linked.
