Rodgers Kwemoi Chumo (born March 3, 1997 in Mount Elgon District ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in the 10,000-meter distance .

Athletic career

Rodgers Kwemoi Chumo gained his first experience at international championships at the 2015 World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang , where he finished 10th in the U20 classification and won the gold medal with the team. In 2016 he won the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz in a new championship record of 27: 25.23 min over 10,000 meters. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he surprisingly won the bronze medal in 27: 28.66 minutes. In 2019 he finished 21st at the World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus in 33:11 min and secured the silver medal in the team standings with the Kenyan team.
