The village consists of the parts Fiesso and Rodi. Fiesso used to be the seat of one of the three Degagne of the Vicinanza (valley community) of Prato. The other two Degagne were Prato's and Dalpe's .

Rodi did not develop into a village until the end of the 19th century when the Gotthard Railway was built. Before there was only swamp and a few stables from farmers from Fiesso and Prato. Today Rodi is the capital of the municipality of Prato (Leventina) with all public facilities such as school and community hall.

From Rodi, a cable car takes you to Lake Tremorgio at 1,800 meters in the Campolungo area.

Attractions
