Rodrigo Cabrera , full name Rodrigo Sergio Cabrera Sasía , (born May 2, 1989 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.87 meter tall defensive player "Lolo" Cabrera is the grandson of the former Uruguayan national player José Sasía and the brother of the football player Leandro Cabrera . At the beginning of his career he was in the squad of the first division Defensor since at least the Apertura 2008 . There he played 17 games in the Primera División in the 2009/10 season and scored two goals. In the Apertura 2010 he came to another use (no goal) in the top Uruguayan league. During the current season he joined league rivals River Plate Montevideo on loan in 2011 . By the end of the season he played there in nine games and scored one goal. In the 2011/12 season he played 16 first division matches (one goal). In 2012 he moved to Juventud within the Primera División . After 25 appearances in 2012/13 and ten games with his participation in the 2013/14 season, his career path took him abroad for the first time. There he started an engagement with Carabobo FC in Venezuela in 2014 . He played for the Venezuelans in 16 games in the Primera División and scored once in the opposing goal. He returned to Juventud for Apertura 2014. In the 2014/15 season he was placed there in 27 first division games (no goal). In July 2015 he moved to the Spanish club CF Fuenlabrada . There he ran (no goals) in 24 games Segunda B on. In July 2016, he joined the Argentine club CA Los Andes , for which he played 14 league games (one goal) and one encounter (no goal) in the Copa Argentina. So far (as of March 3, 2017) he has been used in three top division games (no goal) in the current 2017 season.

Cabrera was part of the Uruguayan U-20 selection .
