Rodscha from Cambodia and Tom Palme

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rodscha from Cambodia and Tom Palme (also Rodscha and Tom ), bourgeois Roland Schneider (* 1975) and Thomas Wagner (* 1977), are German children's musicians, lyricists and educators.

Schneider and Wagner have been playing hands-on concerts for integrative institutions, kindergartens , schools and clubs since 2001 . From 2001 to 2013 they were members of Donikkl and the Weißwürschtl . Shortly before Christmas 2013 they released their first independent album “Affen Tanz - Mitmachlieder” as “Rodscha und Tom”.

On the one hand, Rodscha and Tom's texts come from everyday children's world ; on the other hand, the imagination is to be stimulated, for example through songs in which exotic animals such as elephants, monkeys or crocodiles are the focus. In this way, they want to promote intercultural learning .

Rodschas and Tom's songs are hands-on and movement songs. These are seen as a means of promoting the holistic development of children. Hands-on and movement songs strengthen self-confidence, they promote language skills, body awareness, imagination, creativity and coordination. In this way, the lack of exercise in many children can be counteracted. In addition to the lyrics, the style of music also contributes to this. At Rodscha and Tom, reggae and salsa rhythms, rock music and Latin American music are processed, as well as borrowings from world music .

Rodscha and Tom conduct advanced training courses on the subject of "Music and Movement". From 2014 onwards, they will hold courses on the subject of "Music and Movement" at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . The basis for this is Rodscha's scientific work “The educational significance of children's songs”.
