Roger Machado Marques (born April 25, 1975 in Porto Alegre ) is a former Brazilian soccer player and active coach. From 1994 to 2008 he was active for three clubs.

Career

Grêmio Porto Alegre (1994 to 2003)

Roger began his career in 1991 in the youth of Grêmio Porto Alegre , where he initially belonged to the youth division until 1993. From 1994 to 2003 he was part of the professional team. In the 188 league games that he completed in the nine years, he scored four goals. In 1994 he won the national cup with the club .

Vissel Kobe (2004 to 2005)

The next two years he spent at the Japanese club Vissel Kobe , for which he took part in 28 league games in the first year and scored three goals. In addition, the club qualified for the Kaiser Cup , in which Roger took part in a game. He also took part with the club in the J. League Cup and played six cup games. He played a total of 35 games (four goals). In 2005 he took part in 18 league games and scored one goal. He played five times in the J. League Cup. Roger played 23 games in 2005, scoring one goal. In the two seasons with the Japanese club, he completed 58 games in which he scored five goals.

Fluminense FC (2006 to 2008)

Roger spent his last three seasons from 2006 to 2009 at Fluminense FC . After the three years, Roger had scored in 78 games and three goals.

In the 14 years of his playing career, he made 307 league games and scored eleven goals. He also took part in a game for the Brazilian national soccer team in 2001.

Coaching career

He has been a football coach since 2012 and was assistant coach at his old club Grêmio Porto Alegre from 2012 to 2013 . In 2014 he coached EC Juventude for a short time .
