Roger Mudd

Roger Harrison Mudd (born February 9, 1928 in Washington, DC ) is an American television presenter , journalist and news anchor .

Life

Mudd studied at Washington and Lee University and the University of North Carolina . After graduating from college, he worked as a reporter for The Richmond News Leader in Richmond , Virginia and for the WRNL radio station . In the late 1950s he moved to Washington DC and worked there for the broadcast WTOP News . From May 1961 he worked for the newscast CBS News . In 1980 he moved to NBC and was the presenter of NBC News . Mudd was also a presenter on The History Channel for over 10 years .

From 1987 to 1992 he worked as a political correspondent for the MacNeil teacher Newshour on the television channel PBS . Mudd was married to EJ Spears, who died in 2001, and had four children with her.
