Rogowo ( 1939–1945 : Roggenau ) is a village Powiat Żniński in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with about 6900 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Rogowo is located in the historical region of Poznan , about 15 kilometers south of Żnin and 50 kilometers southwest of Bydgoszcz .
history
The first documented mention of today's Rogowo comes from the year 1311. Rogowo was mentioned as a town in 1380, when the town charter was granted is not known, exactly 200 years later the place lost its town charter. During the Second Northern War , the village was destroyed by the Swedes. After the owner Albert Węgierski rebuilt it, Rogowo was raised to town again on June 15, 1672. In the former Prussian province of Posen , the then town of Rogowo was in the administrative district of Bromberg , district of Znin, until 1919 . In 1919 the place became part of the re-established Poland . In 1934 the place lost its town charter again.
