The Rola GmbH & Co KG is a German company in the spirits industry based in Niederhatzkofen , a district of Rottenburg an der Laaber . With an annual turnover of over 150 million euros, it is one of the largest spirits producers in Germany.

history

The owner-run family business originally comes from Beuthen in Upper Silesia . After the Second World War , the founding family Czerwionka had to leave their previous home and moved to Rottenburg an der Laaber. There she founded a new company in 1946. The name "Rola" originated from the first letters of the place. Soon after the production facility was set up on the site of a former gravel pit, Rola employed up to 300 people. The shareholders are the Czerwionka family. Rudolf Czerwionka took over the management. In the meantime, Gerhard Czerwionka, the third generation, is involved in the company. Rola Weinbrennerei und Likörfabrik GmbH & Co KG , formerly Rola Brandy and Liqueur Distribution G. Czerwionka & Co, is entered as the company name of the operating company in the commercial register at the district court of Landshut .

In terms of net sales, Rola was the tenth largest company in its sector in Germany in 2014.

Products and brands

According to the company, around 50 million 0.7-liter bottles are filled each year, mainly private labels for discounters. The company's main customer is Aldi . The alcohol used in production is not produced in-house, but purchased as neutral alcohol and processed into liqueur or gin , for example . In addition, numerous ready-made spirits and national specialties are purchased from home and abroad.

The range includes a large number of own brands of all common spirits categories , including vodka ( e.g. Zaranoff ), grain , fruit brandy , pomace brandy / grappa , gin , rum , brandy / brandy and cognac , whiskey , bitter spirits , egg liqueur , herbal liqueur , fruit and cream - / Cream and other liqueurs as well as various other spirits and ready mixes for cocktails . The equipment and presentation of many bottles are often reminiscent of well-known branded products.
