Roland A. Müller

Roland A. Müller (born May 22, 1963 in Zurich ) is a Swiss association manager. He has been director of the Swiss Employers' Association since 2013 . He is a lawyer and adjunct professor at the University of Zurich for obligations, labor and social security law.

Life

Roland A. Müller grew up in Zurich. After graduating from high school (type B), he studied at the law faculty of the University of Zurich, where his dissertation on labor law ("The consensual termination of employment") was awarded summa cum laude in 1990 and was finally awarded the Walther Hug Prize . After being admitted to the bar by the Canton of Zurich in 1992 and studying at the Institute for Labor Law and Industrial Relations in the European Community at the University of Trier , Müller completed his habilitation at the University of Zurich with a study on (company) employee representation . From 1992 to 2000, Müller worked at the ASM Employers' Association of the Swiss Machine Industry (now Swissmem ), initially as an association secretary and later as head of the employer issues department (member of the executive board). Since 1996 he has been a part-time labor judge at the Zurich Labor Court. Since 1999 he has been teaching at his alma mater , first as a private lecturer, since 2005 as adjunct professor (for an extract from his extensive publication activities in national and European labor and social security law: see 3 works). Between 2000 and 2007, Müller was a member of the management team at the Swiss Insurance Association and was responsible for personal insurance . He has also been Director of the Swiss Employers' Association in Zurich since 2013. Before that, he was in the same place for six years as the head of the social policy and social insurance department. Müller is a member of the Board of Directors and the Management Committee of SUVA , a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit and Personnel Committee (PPA) of compenswiss as well as a member of the Federal Tripartite Commission for Flanking Measures (TPK) and the Federal Commission for Economic Policy. Since 2018, he has also been Professor of Obligations, Labor and Social Security Law at the Kalaidos FH Law School in Zurich.

Müller is a member of the FDP . He is married and has four children.
