Roland Bergmann

Roland Bergmann (born September 13, 1960 in Münster ; lives in Zurich ) is a German bass player, singer and songwriter. He played as a bass player in the German hard rock band Mad Max . His bass playing influenced the band's 80s sound and he is a co-composer of many earlier Mad Max hits (Stormchild). In 2015 he finally left the band.

Life

Roland Bergmann has been on the international music scene since the 1980s and has played with his bands on concerts and tours. In 1987 he left the band Mad Max and toured the blues and jazz club scene for 15 years. He accompanied the blues singer " Jeanne Carroll " (First Lady Of Chicago Blues, Duke Ellington ) and played in the German blues band "Blues Mafia".

In 2006 the band Mad Max formed anew. Together with the band he worked with artists such as Joe Lynn Turner (Ex- Rainbow , Ex- Deep Purple ), Michael Schenker ( Michael Schenker Group , Ex- UFO , Ex- Scorpions ), Jeff Scott Soto ( Journey ) Wolf Hoffmann ( Ex- Accept ), Don Airey (Deep Purple), Axel Rudi Pell , Sascha Gerstner (Helloween) and Marc Storace ( Krokus ) together. As a studio musician he played on productions with Paul Shortino (King Cobra) and Bert Heerink ( Vandenberg ), worked with Tommy Mandel ( Bryan Adams ) and toured (with his bands) with Alice Cooper , Stryper , Uriah Heep , Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Rudi Pell .

At the beginning of 2015 he finally left the band Mad Max. Since then he has been working as a singer and composer on his own music production. He also plays bass with the Zurich rock band The Formers.

In 2004 Roland Bergmann completed a music degree (Netherlands) in the field of double bass. In addition to classical lessons (Wilton Jongmans), jazz workshops with Hein Van de Geyn, Phillip Catherine and Ruud Ouerhand influenced and shaped his double bass and electric bass playing.
