Roland Peugeot

Roland Peugeot (born March 20, 1926 in Valentigney , † January 6, 2016 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) was a French industrialist of the Peugeot car manufacturer dynasty . He was considered one of the most important figures in French industry in the 20th century.

Life

Roland Peugeot attended the Lycée Janson de Sailly and the Lycée St. Louis in Paris and studied at the Harvard Business School . In 1951 he joined the family business and held several positions at Peugeot and, since 1976, PSA Peugeot Citroën , including Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Peugeot SA (1972–1998) and a member of the Supervisory Board (2001–2014) as well as a member of the Board of Management of Automobiles Peugeot (1982–1996 ) and President of Peugeot Talbot Belgium (1985). He played a major role in the modernization of the group and in the merger with Citroën in the 1970s; On his initiative, non-members of the family, such as Jacques Calvet , were included in the company's management for the first time .

He was the son of Jean-Pierre Peugeot and Colette Boillat-Japy. Roland Peugeot was married to Colette born in 1949.
