Roland Wendt

Roland Wendt (born September 18, 1949 ) is a German lawyer . From 1999 to 2014 he was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

Roland Wendt started his legal career after working as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen in 1979 in Lower Saxony . He initially worked at the Oldenburg Regional and Local Court , the Cloppenburg Local Court and the public prosecutor's office at the Aurich Regional Court . He was temporarily seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant and then in 1988 as a judge at the Oldenburg Higher Regional Court .

On October 1, 1999, Wendt was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and since then has been a member of the 4th Civil Senate of the Federal Court of Justice , which is responsible for inheritance and insurance law , since 2010 as its deputy chairman; from January 2000 to March 2001 he was a judge in the VII Civil Senate . He was also a judge in the Senate for notary matters from 2004 to 2009 and was seconded to the Joint Senate several times. With effect from December 31, 2014, Roland Wendt retired upon reaching the age limit.

He is co-editor of the professional journal Notar and is a member of the advisory board of the journal for tax and inheritance law practice .
