The district court of Cloppenburg is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of eleven district courts in the district of the district court of Oldenburg .

The seat of the court is in Cloppenburg in the district of Cloppenburg in Lower Saxony, the judicial district includes the entire district. The District Court of Oldenburg is superordinate to the District Court of Cloppenburg, the competent Higher Regional Court is the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg .

In the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg , the office of Cloppenburg was the entrance court and the district court of Cloppenburg . With the Courts Constitution Act of August 29, 1857, the judiciary was reorganized. The offices remained entrance authorities. However, the administration of justice and administration have been separated. In every office there was now, in addition to the bailiff, a judicial officer who was exclusively responsible for the administration of justice in his office (it was therefore also spoken of the office as a district court). Now the higher court of Vechta was the higher authority. With the entry into force of the Reich Justice Laws , the court organization was reorganized in 1879 and the Cloppenburg District Court was formed.
