Roland Alphonso
Roland Alphonso , also Rolando Alphonso OM , (born January 12, 1931 in Havana , † November 20, 1998 in Los Angeles ) was a Jamaican tenor saxophonist .
In Nassau , Bahamas , he joined the Skatalites in 1963 . After their dissolution in August 1965, he founded the Soul Brothers , later known as Soul Vendors . From 1973 he also released records under his own name. From 1983 until his death, Alphonso performed again with the reunited Skatalites .
