Rolf Christof Dienst (born March 13, 1946 in Wuppertal - Elberfeld ) is a German entrepreneur and venture capital pioneer.

Life

In addition to studying law, Dienst was co-founder of the Matuschka Group, an asset management company based in Munich, until he left in 1990 . In 1984 the Matuschka Group co-founded TVM Capital in Munich and Dienst was the first CEO . TVM Capital was a cooperation of the Matuschka Group with TA Associates, Boston, and Siemens AG in Munich.

After selling his Matuschka shares, Dienst founded the Munich-based venture capital company Wellington Partners in 1991 , where he has been Partner Emeritus since 2011. At the same time, Dienst set up Wessel Management GmbH, where he operates consulting and investment management with six employees. In 2017, Control Expert GmbH, Langenfeld was sold from its own portfolio of 37 company investments as part of a management buy-out to General Atlantik.

Rolf Christof Dienst is the initiator and founder of the LMU Entrepreneurship Center at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , of which he is an honorary senator . He was also a member of the board of directors from 2005 to 2007 and chairman of the board of the Bundesverband Deutscher Kapitalbeteiligungsgesellschaft (BVK) from 2007 to 2009 . For four years he was a member of the advisory board of the High-Tech Gründerfonds in Bonn. He is also a member of the Münchner Finance Forum eV. Since 2017 he has been a member of the board of trustees of the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition under the direction of Dietmar Harhoff . He is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of AssetMetrix.

Dienst is married and has five children. He lives in the Villa Burg Sonnensturm in Walchstadt .

criticism

In addition, Dienst was chairman of the supervisory board of adviqo AG until 2017. Adviqo operates the AstroTV , Questico and Viversum brands. These offer astrology , divination and esotericism - for example in the form of card reading and telepathy. AstroTV in particular is criticized for bringing people into considerable financial difficulties through dubious business practices.
