Rolf Ulrich Claessen (born November 15, 1972 ) is a German patent attorney and television juror .

Life

After studying chemistry in Tübingen and Würzburg , Claessen received his doctorate from the State University of New York at Albany . He initially worked in the areas of development and product management at SuNyx Surface Nanotechnologies GmbH before beginning additional training as a patent attorney . He is a partner in the Cologne patent law firm Freischem & Partner Patentanwälte mbB .

Claessen has been running a channel on YouTube for his law firm since October 2015, in which he deals with legal issues, especially patent , trademark and design law. He also works with other guests such as the lawyer Christian Solmecke . Claessen has been moderating the English-language podcast IP Fridays since 2013 . He is a permanent employee of the journal Der IP-Rechts-Beratung from the publishing house Dr. Otto Schmidt .

Since January 7, 2019 until today, Claessen has been on the jury of the Sat.1 inventor show alongside Horst Veith , Leon Windscheid and Fränzi Kühne, How brilliant is that ?!

Rolf Claessen is married and has three children. He lives with his family in Cologne.
