Rolf Kayser (hydraulic engineer)
Rolf Kayser (born September 11, 1931 in Oldenburg ; † May 24, 2011 ) was a German hydraulic engineer .
Career
Kayser received his doctorate in 1967 from the Technical University of Braunschweig . After completing his habilitation , he returned to the TU Braunschweig as a professor for urban water management in 1970. In September 1993 he retired .
His scientific contributions are outstanding achievements for the further development of the activated sludge process, in particular with regard to nitrogen and phosphorus elimination.
Honors

- 1997: Honorary doctorate from the Vienna University of Technology
- 1998: Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany
- 2002: William Dunbar Medal from the European Water Association
