Rolf Metz

Rolf Metz (born March 17, 1910 in Gudensberg ; † September 27, 1996 ) was a Hessian politician ( FDP ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Rolf Metz attended elementary school in Gudensberg and the secondary school in Melsungen and then did an agricultural apprenticeship in Westphalia and Lower Saxony. From 1933 he worked in his father's estate, which he took over himself in 1952. Metz had been an SS member since September 1932 (SS number 56 216), most recently in the rank of SS Obersturmführer . From 1935 to 1936 he did voluntary service in the Wehrmacht . From January 1, 1940 to May 11, 1942 he belonged to the SS-Totenkopf-Reiterstandarte , served as SS-Untersturmführer and “Schw. Chief ”in the SS leadership main office and was inspector for riding and driving and was u. a. Involved in operations against partisans and civilians, mostly Jewish people, in the “Operation Pripjet Marshes” . On August 12, 1941, one of the reports from the SS brigade was: “Driving women and children into the swamps did not have the success it was supposed to have, because the swamps were not so deep that they would sink could. […] The total number of the Reit.Abt. shot looters, etc. amounts to: 6,526. "

politics

Rolf Metz became a member of the NSDAP on July 1, 1931 (membership number 770.877). Possibly by May 1932 there was an exit and re-entry.

In 1946, Metz joined the FDP (then: LDP ) and from 1961 was district chairman of the FDM in the Fritzlar-Homberg district . From 1952 to 1968 he was a city councilor in Gudensberg, since 1961 a member of the Fritzlar-Homberg district assembly and spokesman there, initially for the unity list, and later for the FDP.

Rolf Metz was a member of the association assembly of the LWV between February 1973 and October 31, 1973 and a member of the Hessian state parliament from December 1, 1970 to November 28, 1974.

Other offices

Rolf Metz did volunteer work in various professional organizations in North Hesse. He was chairman of the German cattle breeders' working group and deputy chairman of the German animal breeders working group .
