Rolf Seggel

Rolf Seggel (born June 19, 1910 in Wesermünde ; † November 6, 1968 in Bremen ) was a German operations director and Bremen politician ( FDP ). He was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Family, education and work

Seggel was the son of the medical councilor Rudolf Seggel (1873–1955) from Wesermünde and the doctor's daughter Sophie Seggel (1875–1961). After graduating from the Humanities College in Bremerhaven , he studied from 1928 to 1932 law . In 1928 he became a member of the Corps Bremensia Göttingen . Until 1937 he was a trainee lawyer or legal assistant in the price monitoring office in Bremen. During this time he was also a volunteer in the Wehrmacht . In 1938 he worked as a commercial trainee and then as in-house counsel for the steel industry. He served as a soldier from 1939 to 1945, most recently as a captain , in World War II and was a prisoner of war until 1946.

He had been in-house counsel from June 1946, a member of the commercial board from January 1949 and from the 1950s to 1968 chairman of the board of Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) in Bremen.

Seggel was married to Magdalene Segel (1913–1999); both had four children.

politics

At the beginning of the 1930s, Seggel was a member of the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten and therefore a member of the SS for ten months in 1934 . He therefore volunteered for the Wehrmacht to be able to leave the SS. From 1934 to 1937 he was a member of the National Socialist Lawyers ' Association during his legal clerkship and since 1939 of the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV). In 1948 he was denazified as not affected .
After the war he became a member of the BDV and the FDP in Bremen.

From December 16, 1953 to September 24, 1956 he was a member of the Bremen Citizenship and served in various deputations of the Citizenship.
