Rolf Ulrich (sports medicine specialist)

Rolf Ulrich (born March 24, 1920 ; † May 21, 2003 in Bremen ) was a German sports doctor .

biography

In 1938 he went to study medicine at the Georg August University in Göttingen . In the same year he became a member of the Holzminda fraternity . After successfully passing his exams and gaining his doctorate in 1945, he was in charge of the first sporting event in Bremen after the Second World War in June 1945 . From 1947 he worked for more than 35 years in the main health office in Bremen, as a medical officer and later as deputy head of department . In addition, he was a forensic expert in many large proceedings. Even after his retirement in 1982 he was more active and supervised a team of swimming Old Sports, was company doctor of the Society for Public Baths , the ZDF studios Bremen and until 1987 the Bremer Theater .

At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich , he was the sports doctor responsible for looking after the German swimming team . He was a founding member of the Bremen Sports Medical Association , its chairman from 1951 to 1985 and then its honorary president. He was also a re-founding member of the German Sports Medical Association and in many committees of the State Sports Association and District Sports Association in Bremen.
